Media Center of Egypt’s Council of Ministers denies the reports circulated on social media that say that Egypt could be affected by the toxic gases and emissions of the “La Palma” volcano.

The center contacted the Ministry of Environment, which dismissed these news, stressing that Egypt will not be affected by the toxic gases and emissions of the “La Palma” volcano.

Egypt will not be affected by any gases or emissions from the "La Palma" volcano due to its geographical distance from the volcano and these gases spread in the upper layers of the atmosphere, which makes it difficult to reach the Egyptian atmosphere.

The ministry stressed that no environmental pollutants or emissions that have a direct impact on public health or facilities were detected.

"We also confirm that its consequences will not reach Egypt, and if they do reach the upper layers, they will be in very weak rates that people will never feel them".

"We  also confirm that the environmental monitoring stations spread throughout the Republic are working in a momentary manner to monitor any pollution rates throughout the day through specialized teams, " the ministry added.
