BUC Hosts Egyptologist Estella

CAIRO, Dec. 20 (SEE) -Dr. Mustafa Kamal, president of Badr University in Cairo (BUC), received Dr. Maria Estella Mazanti, professor of Egyptology at Sichat, an Italian institution working to spread the Italian language across the world.

In attendance were Dr. Ashraf Heidar, vice president of the university for international agreements, Dr. Hussein Mahmoud, dean of the Faculty of Languages ​​and Translation at the university, Dr. Fatima Taher, vice dean, and Dr. Lamia Al-Sharif, head of Italian language department at the faculty.

At first, Dr. kamal welcomed Dr. Estella and her accompanying delegation, praising the fruitful cooperation between the university and the Italian institution in the framework of cooperation protocol signed with the university. According to that protocol, Italian professors visited the Egyptian university, participated in the academic staff, and Dr. Maria herself has lectured a 30-hours course on Italian culture.

On the other hand, Dr. Estella welcomed the positive cooperation with Badr University, and praised the efforts made by the professors in the Italian department at the university in teaching Italian language according to the latest relevant standards adopted in Italy.

After the meeting, Dr. Estella met with students from the Italian department during a workshop in which she presented on the Italian culture and Italian art throughout history.

She also presented a film about the fascist leader Mussolini.

She then held a discussion with the students about the film and to what extent it expressed the historical events they are studying.

On her part, Dr. Al-Sharif affirmed that the students are studying Italian history as a subject from the second to the fourth year. “The university is always keen to host Italian professors who lecture students as well as present films and discussions that deepen students' understanding.
