BTS member Jimin has been hospitalized with acute appendicitis, the band’s management company Big Hit Entertainment said on Monday.
He was taken in for emergency surgery Sunday after experiencing sudden abdominal pain.
The 26-year-old singer and dancer also had mild sore throat and tested positive for coronavirus while in the hospital.
“The surgery was successful, and Jimin is currently recuperating after his procedure,” the company said in a statement.
Big Hit added that Jimin was already making a “speedy recovery” from the coronavirus.
Jimin will receive several days of postoperative care as well as inpatient treatment for the virus.
