The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday held a phone conversation with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to invite him to attend the UK-Africa Investment Summit 2020, which is due to be held on January 20, in London, Britain’s ambassador to Cairo Sir Geoffrey Adams said.

The British Ambassador confirmed via Twitter that the United Kingdom aims to become the best partner for Africa and its largest investor.

He added that president Sisi, during the call, congratulated Boris Johnson on winning the election, stressing that this reflects the confidence of the British voters in their new prime minister to lead the country during the next stage.

He also added that the two countries will be able to conclude a new “huge” trade deal after Britain leaves the European Union.

They also expressed their commitment to strengthen the relationship between the UK and Egypt in a range of areas, including trade and security cooperation.

They are looking forward to meeting next at the UK-Africa Investment Summit in London in January.

After winning the election, Johnson considered that “this conservative government had apparently obtained a new and strong mandate to accomplish Brexit.”

It is noteworthy that Britain will host the UK-Africa Investment Summit in London.

The summit will be hosted by the Prime Minister and will bring together businesses, governments, and international institutions to showcase and promote the breadth and quality of investment opportunities across Africa.

The Summit will strengthen the UK’s partnership with African nations to build a secure and prosperous future for all our citizens. It will mobilize new and substantial investments to create jobs and boost mutual prosperity.
