After announcing the establishment of full diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Israel on Friday, Palestine's Foreign Ministry recalled its ambassador in Manama for talks.

"Following the normalization step taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain tonight by announcing the establishment of relations and the signing of a peace agreement with the occupying body in a serious violation of the Arab Peace Initiative and the decisions of the Arab summits, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Riyad Al Maliki announced his immediate recalling of the Palestinian ambassador accredited to the Kingdom Bahrain for consultations," a statement by the Palestinian foreign ministry read.

This decision aims to take the necessary steps regarding Bahrain's decision to normalize relations with the occupying entity, according to the statement.

"The State of Palestine affirms its absolute rejection of this free step taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain towards normalization with the occupying state," the statement noted.

"The State of Palestine calls on Bahrain to withdraw from this normalization deal in order to preserve the historical Palestinian-Bahraini relations that we are keen on and to preserve the principles that the Kingdom of Bahrain has always adhered to over the years in its defense on the Palestinian right to obtain an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital."

It's noteworthy that Tel Aviv and Manama have reached a deal to fully normalize their relations, US President Trump announced on Friday.
