Brazil: 4 Killed When Soccer Team Bus Falls off Bridge (Video)

At least four people died after a bus carrying footballers fell from a bridge in Brazil early this Monday.

Besides the four victims, which included three teenagers and one adult, a total of 29 people were injured.

A bus fell from a bridge on the BR-116 highway, at km 792, in Zona da Mata, Minas Gerais, early this Monday.

Media outlets reported that the accident took place on the BR-116 highway, at km 792, in Zona da Mata, Minas Gerais.

According to the Fire Department, there were 33 occupants, including the driver, four adults from the technical commission, and 28 teenagers.

They took part in a football championship and were returning to Duque de Caxias city, Rio de Janeiro. The bus left Ubaporanga city.

Meanwhile, firefighters are still exerting efforts to rescue the victims at the scene.

Twenty-three people were taken to the hospital in the region, whereas another five were shifted to a more distant hospital. There are no details of their health status.
