World Men’s Handball Championship 2021 – the first to feature 37 teams – is showcasing the remarkable progress of men's handball and the excellent caliber of the leading women referees at this event.

The success of the French twins, who officiated the match between Egypt and Macedonia on Saturday, has captured everyone’s attention.

Why do some women make it? Why do others fail? Is it possible that successful women in general share certain character traits? They probably do.

Although they may have different approaches, styles and skills, they have a lot in common, too. You can call it what you will: talent, passion, ambition.

For example, the story of twins Charlotte and Julie Bonaventure Could be an effective model for a prospective successful woman.  It can be applicable to anybody who has these qualities and has an idea what her career will be.

The Bonaventura twins were born August 2, 1980, in the French city of Marseille.

The two sisters became the first two women to take apart in the men’s world championship, and that was in the 2017 tourney that was held in France at the time, and they managed 4 matches in this tournament, 3 of them in the first round, and a match in the round of 16.

They also appeared in the 2009 Women’s Handball World Championships in China and 2011 in Brazil.

The Bonaventura twins are two of the most successful rare French arbitrators, and freak icons in a profession dominated by men.

During their appearances in the Olympic Games in London 2012, they managed many matches for the men’s and women’s tournaments, before leading the arbitration of the then women’s final between Norway and Montenegro in August 2012.

Moreover, they managed the UEFA Women’s Champions League Final in May 2014 between the Hungarian champion and the Montenegrin champion, with a crowd of 10,000 spectators, and they also managed the 2018 UEFA Women’s Handball Championship Final, with 12,000 spectators.

Furthermore , they succeeded in managing the final of the European Women’s Handball Championship, which was then held in Hungary and Croatia in 2014, between Spain and Norway.

For the first time in their career, they managed the final of the Women’s World Cup, which was then held in Denmark in 2015, between the Netherlands and Norway.

It's worth noting that two women, 40-year-old Bonaventure, are among the remarkable referees in the French League, as they managed women’s and men’s competitions for the first pision in France, as they had previously participated in tournaments organized by the European and International Handball Federation, in addition to their appearance in the 2012 Olympic Games.
