US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to travel to Beijing on February 5-6 and meet with his Chinese counterpart Qin Gang, Politico reported Monday, citing sources.

The report said Blinken will likely discuss the conflict in Ukraine, Beijing's nuclear arsenal, counternarcotics cooperation, and the release of US citizens held in China.

He is also expected to raise the issue of unfreezing the bilateral military dialogue, which was suspended after then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan in August.

The US State Department and the Chinese Embassy in Washington have not yet responded to a request from TASS to confirm the visit.

US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed at a meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Indonesia in November that Blinken would travel to China at the beginning of 2023.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will meet with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He in Switzerland on Wednesday.

According to the report, US and Chinese officials recently resumed contacts that were interrupted after Pelosi's trip. The newspaper mentioned that Yellen is considering visiting China after Blinken.
