US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is discussing with heads of state and other leaders from North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean, building a democratic, sustainable and resilient future.
In a press release on its official website, the US State Department said that Blinken will travel to Los Angeles tomorrow to attend the 9th summit of the Americas, which will be hosted by the United States (US) from June 7 to 10, in the presence of US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to the statement, the US Secretary of State will take part in a workshop on social inclusion and the economic contributions of immigrants with mayors from all over the hemisphere.
Blinken will also lead a conversation with journalism students on press freedom, which will include the launch of a new hemisphere digital communications network, highlight efforts to advance democratic governance at the Civil Society Forum, and emphasize shared goals toward digital transformation at the CEO Summit.
The summit of the Americas is the first hosted by the United States since the first meeting in Miami in 1994.
