Blinken, Oman FM discuss peace efforts in region

Oman Minister of Foreign Affairs Sayyed Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi received a phone call on Wednesday from Antony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State.

During the phone call, they hailed the strategic and deep relations between the two friendly countries, expressing their keenness to promote bilateral ties in various spheres to achieve mutual benefits.

They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interests, underlining the need to support all efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in the region.

It is worth mentioning, an American delegation headed by Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, commander of the U.S. Central Command is currently visiting Oman. They inspected the Khasab Air Base and the Musandam Naval Base.

 

The delegation also held a number of meetings with Omani senior officials.

On his part, McKenzie praised the efforts made by the Omani government led by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to develop the military sector. He also affirmed that Oman is a key strategic partner for the U.S. to enhance security in the region.
