KaiOS new technology will allow billions to use internet on their old, cheap traditional phones, according to Bloomberg. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2019-06-07/the-next-big-phones-could-bring-a-billion-people-online

Nearly 8 million live in Africa, yet the use of the internet is limited, since only 25% of them have access to it.

This limitation is due to poor infrastructure and the overpriced phones in comparison to people's income.

Egypt is one of the countries that will benefit from the new system.

Egyptian company SICO is one of the first companies in Africa that braces to launch KaiOS phones in the upcoming months.

Only 48.7% in Egypt use the internet while the ratio is higher in other countries such as Lebanon (91%), Jordan (80%) and Tunisia (68%).
