Big Numbers of Defectors, Militants Benefit from Presidential Amnesty in Syria

An official source in Deir Ezzor, Syria, announced that big numbers of defectors and militants continue to flock to the center of reconciliation in the province, for the sixth consecutive day.

The official revealed that there was a noticeable increase in the number of people flocking to the center in the city center over the last few days.

The source said that the settlement process continues for the sixth day in a row in the center that was opened in the city's gymnasium; it is witnessing a noticeable increase in the number of wanted and fleeing soldiers arriving in the two mandatory services in order to settle their situation.

The official added the people who come to the center are not limited to the people of Deir Ez- Zor city, but also to the people of other areas in the al-Jazirah region, as well as the influx of wanted people and fleeing soldiers who have failed the two mandatory services from the areas controlled by (Syrian Democratic Forces – SDF ).

The source pointed out that "since the launching of the special comprehensive settlement process, which includes all civilians and soldiers whose hands were not stained with blood, the number of people whose status has been settled has reached more than 4,000  persons.

The source confirmed that the settlement committee includes specialized officials and judges and that it will remain in the city as long as there is a flock in this way to the settlement center."

On his part, the governor of Deir Ez-Zor, Fadel Najjar, announced that "the settlement process continues to implement the amnesty decrees issued by President Bashar al-Assad, with the aim of returning the deceived people to the bosom of the homeland and contributing to the reconstruction of what terrorism destroyed in our homeland.
