US President Joe Biden has revealed that US is ready to hold direct and frank talks with China to avoid any conflict between the two countries.
During his meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on the Indonesian island of Bali today, Monday, Biden said, "As the leaders of our two nations, we share responsibility, in my view, to show that China and the United States can manage our differences, prevent competition from becoming anything ever near conflict, and to find ways to work together on urgent global issues that require our mutual cooperation," stressing that there is no alternative to direct talks.
On his part, the Chinese president said that he is ready to hold frank talks with Biden on strategic issues.
These talks come on the eve of the G20 summit, which brings together the world's largest economies.
