US President Joe Biden is preparing to start his reelection campaign for the next presidential vote in 2024, according to the Hill on Saturday.

The president and his advisers are working on details of the future campaign and Biden may announce his intention to run for another term in the White House in the next few weeks, most likely in February, according to the report.

The newspaper reported that a more official announcement could follow in April.

"I think it’s all about timing at this point," one Biden ally told the Hill. "It seems like he’s all in. It’s not really ‘if’ he runs anymore."

The report highlighted that the intention to run for a second term is beginning to take shape even as some Democrats continue to doubt whether Biden will take this step, mainly due to his advanced age. He turned 80 in November.

The Hill said Biden spent time with his family in St. Croix over the holidays to discuss his next steps in another bid.

White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre said earlier that the president will discuss his offer with the family and make a decision at the beginning of 2023.
