Iconic American actress Betty White turned 99 on Sunday. Born on January 17, 1922, White has spent more than 80 years in show business.
On Saturday, the American sweetheart revealed her modest plans to celebrate her birthday to Associated Press: "Since I am turning 99, I can stay up as late as I want without asking permission!"
White told the publication that her plans included feeding ducks that regularly visit her Los Angeles-area home. as well as eat a hot dog and French fries as her birthday meal, brought over by her enduring friend, agent Jeff Witjas, who also gifted her a bouquet of roses.
The American sweetheart show biz career began in 1939. Most actors and actresses are lucky if they get one during their careers, but after Betty got her first gigantic hit playing Sue Ann Nivens on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", the show was one of the biggest hits in TV history.

She followed that up with "The Golden Girls", starring as Rose Nylund, a kindhearted bottle blonde ditz from St. Olaf, Minnesota for 8 years and 204 episodes.
The Golden Girls ended due to her co-star Bea Arthur on "The Golden Girls" did not wish to star in the show anymore, so White joined her other co-stars from the show, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty in a follow-up sequel series.
The follow-up sequel was entitled "The Golden Palace", which was the spin-off show that lasted only one season in 1993 and saw the three remaining leads start a hotel together.
The American sweetheart has spent eight decades working in television and has racked up the longest career in the history of the medium.
White was married to game show host and producer Allen Ludden from 1963 until his death in 1981.
