Belarus President to Visit Egypt in Coming Days

In the coming days, the President of Belarus will visit Egypt. Alexander Lukashenko revealed this on February 14 in Svetlogorsk, where he took part in the symbolic launch of a bleached pulp production line at a local pulp and paper mill.

Lukashenko also met some factory workers, one of whom was Egyptian Fedi Khalil, who has been living with his family in Belarus for about seven years.

Lukashenko noted that in a few days this worker will be at home.

“We will remember you there. And I will even tell President al-Sisi about this. I’ll definitely mention you, ” the official leader said, his press service said.

The previous time Lukashenko visited Egypt in January 2017, and in June 2019, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi visited Minsk.

During his visit in 2019, Sisi held talks with his Belarus counterpart on ways to boost bilateral ties.

Sisi also has met with the speakers of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly.

The Egyptian president met with representatives of the business community in the country, heads of major companies, as well as senior officials and representatives of governmental bodies on means of boosting economic cooperation and vast investment opportunities in Egypt in light of major national projects in the country.

The two presidents have exchanged views on a host of political issues at regional and international levels, topped by fighting terrorism and extremist ideology.
