Despite the suspension of all football activities around the world, the Premier League (PL) rolls on in Belarus.

The Belarusian Premier League rarely gets a mention in normal circumstances, but now it attracted attention from foreign fans as it is considered the only league in Europe, where football is still being played.

On Saturday, there were six tasty games in the eastern European country including the derby between FC Minsk and Dinamo Minsk, which held in the presence of 3,000 fans in Belarus' capital.

The eastern European country has reported 88 coronavirus cases and no deaths so far.

On his part, Belarus Football Federation spokesman Aleksandr Aleinik said the country has taken all the precautionary measures to allow games to go ahead.

"We've taken all the measures recommended by the Sports Ministry. All those who are in contact with fans are supplied with gloves," he said according to BBC.

"The decision to carry on has helped the Belarus Football Federation secure broadcasting deals with sports networks in 10 countries, including Russia, Israel, and India, where fans have been left with nothing to watch," BBC reported.

It is worth mentioning that the Uefa postponed the final games of the Uefa Champions League and the Europa League until an unknown date due to coronavirus pandemic.

The COVID-19 caused complete paralysis in football across Europe as the World Health Organisation (WHO) announced the continent as ‘epicenter’ of the virus.
