From 2021 to 2025, Beijing authorities have released a plan for the development of the hydrogen energy industry.

According to a plan released by the municipal bureau of economy and information technology, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region will achieve a cumulative scale of hydrogen energy industry chain worth more than 100 billion yuan (15.4 billion dollars) by 2025, reducing carbon emissions by 2 million tonnes.

Before 2023, five to eight prominent firms in the hydrogen energy industry chain with international significance will be cultivated, and the industrial chain's scale in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region will exceed 50 billion yuan, reducing carbon emissions by one million tonnes.

By 2025, ten to fifteen leading industrial chain businesses with global clout will have been developed, as well as three to four world-class industrial R&D and innovation platforms.

In terms of transportation, by 2025, the region hopes to have built 74 hydrogen filling stations and have more than 10,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

By 2025, commercial models of power and heat supply with more applications will be investigated in the region, and the installed capacity of distributed power generation systems will exceed 10MW.
