Nearly 165 Bahraini nationals including students left Egypt as a first batch to return to the Kingdom of Bahrain in the framework of the measures taken by the Kingdom to preserve its citizens due to the pandemic of the novel coronavirus.

”These measures are based on directives given by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, May God protect him and his people,” according to an official statement issued by the Bahraini Embassy in Cairo.

The statement revealed that King Hamad called concerned officials to take all means of assistance to any of the Kingdom's citizens who wish to return to the country, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

“His Excellency Mr. Hisham bin Muhammad Al-Jowder, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt and permanent representative to the League of Arab States, was keen to check on the Kingdom's citizens and follow the progress of their departure procedures at Cairo Airport and overcome all obstacles facing them,” the statement read.

In this context, Jowder indicated that the embassy is working around the clock to monitor the situation of all the people of the Kingdom in various Egyptian governorates, stressing that the Kingdom's embassy in Cairo will take another trip in the coming days to facilitate the task of returning a number of other Bahraini citizens who wish to return to the country.

It is worth noting that last week, the necessary medical examinations were carried out for the travelers before their travel, and they provided them with personal protection tools such as sterilizers, masks, and medical gloves.
