Bahrain's official News Agency reported Monday that the Bahraini Cabinet has approved a memorandum of understanding on air services with Israel.

"The Ministers Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the government of the State of Israel regarding air services, and authorized the concerned minister to sign it," the agency said in a statement published on its official website.

"The council referred an agreement regarding air services between the two countries to the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs, in light of the memorandum submitted for this purpose by the Minister of Transport and Communications."

Two weeks ago, the Israeli government approved the peace agreement concluded with the Kingdom of Bahrain, pending approval by the Israeli parliament.

Israel officially signed on September 15, under the auspices of US President then Donald Trump, peace agreements with the UAE and Bahrain.
