Baghdad Conference: Sisi Meets Iraqi Counterpart (Photos)

On the sidelines of Baghdad Conference, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Saturday with Iraq's President Barham Salih who stressed his deep appreciation for Sisi on a personal level, and Iraq's keenness to continue intensive coordination and consultation with Egypt at all levels.

On his part, Sisi affirmed Egypt's pride in the historical relations with Iraq, and its keenness to strengthen its Arab national role, as well as providing full support to the Iraqi people in all fields, whether at the bilateral level or within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism with the Kingdom of Jordan, in support of mutual cooperation relations and for the process of joint Arab action.

Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady said that the meeting witnessed a review of the overall joint bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as ways to enhance areas of economic, commercial and investment cooperation.

"Both leaders also discussed the executive position of the projects agreed upon within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism with Jordan," Rady added.
