Al Ahly and Morocco national team defender Badr Benoun started the rehabilitation phase after four months of absence due to injury.

Badr Benoun had tested positive for COVID-19 and was replaced by Achraf Bencharki in Morocco’s traveling squad for the 2021 AFCON back in January.

The 28-year-old suffered from severe complications from the coronavirus, despite testing negative, forcing him to be sidelined for over three months.

As a result, Benoun missed out on a number of games for Al Ahly including their entire run in the FIFA Club World Cup that saw the Red Devils finish third in the tournament.

However, the situation seems to be improving now as the Moroccan international appears to be on the verge of returning to the pitch.

A few days ago, Benoun returned to Egypt, and he’s now going through the rehabilitation phase in order to start training with the team.
