The Backstreet Boys, one of America's most popular bands in the 90s, reunited Sunday for Elton John's iHeartRadio's Living Room Concert for America in a bid to uplift people's spirits and raise money for the families in need.

The band which consists of AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, and Kevin Richardson enlightened fans with their performance of 1999 hit-song "I Want It That Way" from their respective homes from different states.

The performance featured cameos from some of their children, in one part, Carter held his son Odin as he performed by the pool, while another featured Richardson's sons, Mason and Maxwell, playing the guitar and drums.

The donations will go to the "First Responders Children's Foundation" and "Feeding America" charities that are helping families during the outbreak.

The one-hour concert was hosted by John and also featured performances from Billie Eilish, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello, Sam Smith, and other musicians.

It is worth mentioning that the World Health Organization (WHO) declared coronavirus a global pandemic on March 11 as the new virus has rapidly spread to more than 121,000 people from Asia to the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

More cases of the virus, which causes respiratory disease Covid-19, continue to emerge, with outbreaks in South Korea, Italy, and Iran.

The data collected so far showed that at least 738,233 people are infected and about 35,004 people have died.

Transmission of viruses between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.

They can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.

It is known that older people appear to be more vulnerable to the effects of the emerging virus.

People across the globe partake in self-isolation for 14 days as an effective precautionary measure to protect those around them and themselves from contracting COVID-19.
