BA to Hold Symposium on Egypt’s Initiatives in 2022

Dr. Moustafa El-Feki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), unveiled Egypt will witness many initiatives, achievements, and events during 2022, which represents an extension of the intensive effort made by the state at all levels.

El-Feki added that the BA in the context of its interest in issues related to building the modern state will organize a symposium entitled "The year 2022... An Egyptian vision".

The event will be attended by ministers, intellectuals, academics, and media professionals.

The symposium would discuss a number of important issues that Egypt will witness next year such as the Climate Change Conference, archaeological inaugurations, the administrative capital, the role civil society plays in partnership with the state to achieve development and expand investment opportunities.

El-Feki affirmed the symposium will witness a perse presence, culturally, ideologically, intergenerational, and qualitatively, which is what the BA is keen to provide through its programs and activities.

El-Feki will emphasize the importance of pluralism of opinion, as long as it stems from a national stance, enhance the state building, stability, renaissance, and role locally, regionally, and globally.

Dr. Sameh Fawzy, the rapporteur of the symposium and chief researcher at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, stated that the symposium will include two sessions.

The first will witness the participation of Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation, and Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of the Environment.

While the second will include a discussion by a number of prominent experts in the fields of energy, public policy, human development, and empowerment, namely Dr. Khaled Zakaria, Dr. Hania Shalgami, and Dr. Ahmed Kandil.

The symposium will be attended by representatives of ministries, academic staff, civil society, the media, and youth representation.
