Today, Azerbaijan announced that it bombed two missile launch sites in Armenia, which were used to target civilian areas during the conflict in Nagorny Karabakh, as Baku put it.

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in statements that it destroyed a ballistic missile system and another missile system in Armenia in separate attacks on Tuesday night and Wednesday.

The ministry explained that the two systems have been deployed in areas in Armenia adjacent to Kalbjar of Baku, which are controlled by separatists.

On its part, the Armenian Ministry of Defense confirmed that areas on its lands were targeted, denying at the same time that it bombed the other party. The ministry affirmed also that it "reserves the right" to target any infrastructure or military equipment on the territory of Baku. "

For the first time , Baku admitted that it has bombed targets inside Armenia since violent battles broke out last month between Azerbaijani forces and separatists backed by Armenia in the Nagorno Karabakh region.

Massive fighting broke out on 27 September around Karabakh, a predominantly ethnic-Armenian region of Azerbaijan that separated from Baku during a war in the last 1990s.

The clashes continued despite the announcement of a humanitarian ceasefire at the end of last week.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Tuesday that Turkey is inciting Azerbaijan to continue fighting in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

“Turkey is trying to expand its influence in South Caucasus by intervening in the conflict between the two countries,” Azerbaijan revealed, according to Al Arabiya.

He added that Baku will continue fighting as long as Turkey wants that, noting:” the concessions from both sides will solve the crisis.”
