This morning, Morocco announced the dismantling of a terrorist cell belonging to ISIS, in the city of Agadir, 300 kilometers south of the capital, Rabat.

A statement by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) said that the security forces arrested 3 elements who declared their allegiance to the terrorist organization, whose ages ranged between 26 and 28 years.

The statement explained that the cell was operating in the cities of Inezgane and Ait Melloul, on the outskirts of Agadir.

He explained that the initial investigations confirmed that the cell leader, along with his fellows, announced their pledge of allegiance to the alleged caliph of "ISIS" before they planned to carry out terrorist operations aimed at destabilizing the security and stability of the Kingdom.

The search and tracking procedures indicated that the members of this terrorist cell were searching for firearms and materials used in the manufacture of IEDs.

According to the BCIJ, affiliated to the General Directorate for the Protection of National Territory (Civil Intelligence), this operation resulted in the seizure of large and medium-sized white weapons, in addition to electronic devices and manuscripts of an extremist nature.
