US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin urged steps to de-escalate situation between Israel and the Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza.
This came during a phone call between Austin and his Israeli counterpart Benny Gantz, according to a statement issued by US embassy in Israel.
Moreover, Austin expressed his concern regarding reports of civilian deaths, calling for a timely investigation into the civilian casualties, as a result of the Israeli raids.
In addition, US defense secretary stressed “Israel’s right to self-defense and the United States’ enduring commitment to Israel’s security.”
It is worth mentioing that, Israel launched a series of raids on Friday evening across the Gaza Strip, killing 10 Palestinians, including the prominent leader of the Al-Quds Brigades, Tayseer Al-Jabari, and a 5-year old girl.
