Hebrew media reported today, Friday, that at least 44 were killed during an over-crowded religious bonfire festival in Israel while more than 100 were injured.
A Police spokesman said that the wounded who needed treatment in hospital had been evacuated from the scene, adding that the "identification process" of the victims had begun, according to Israeli Channel 12.
The Israeli authorities are currently focusing on helping the crowds to leave the scene and return to their homes, and "there are currently thousands of people at the scene."
