1200 Egyptian Students Welcome their African Colleagues in "South Flower"

CAIRO, Oct. 23 (SEE)- After the announcement of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi that Aswan Governorate is the capital of African youth, Aswan University, which is known as “Zahrat Al-Janoub”, succeeded in hosting 22 African countries during the first African Universities Youth Week, which was organized by the university.

The first African Universities Youth Week aims at engaging African youth, exchanging cultures and knowledge, deepening the concept of communication, consolidating bonds of love and cooperation throughout the African continent.

Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid Abdel Ghaffar, a number of university leaders, and delegates from 22 African countries were present at the opening of the University Youth Week.

The delegates from 22 African came from Somalia, Mali, Chad, Central Africa, Benin, Malawi, Senegal, Tanzania, Niger, Nigeria, Uganda, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Cameroon, Kenya, Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Burundi, Comoros, Gabon and Mozambique.

Also, 1,200 students from Aswan University, and other many students from Damietta, Suez, Sadat City, El-Arish, New Valley and Luxor universities participated in the University Youth week. It included cultural, social, sports, artistic, innovations and technology activities.

Dr. Ahmed Ghallab, president of Aswan university, said that the university has established a solid ground among Egyptian universities and is capable of hosting many local and international events and events.

He added that the university was able to achieve many local and international successes, most recently winning the first place in the world ranking in the "Times" British in terms of research citations.

Also, the university appeared in this classification among the top 500 universities in the world and got the first place among universities Egyptian in its first appearance in this ranking this year.

The university announced the opening of several new facilities at the university during the celebration of the University Youth Week, including the opening of five-a-side football pitches, beach volleyball, a tennis court, a multi-purpose canoe, an open-air theater, a covered theater, a fountain and a bakery of the Faculty of Agriculture.
