As part of the preparation for a celebration honoring the 30th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Belarus in 2022, the embassy of Belarus held a press conference to commemorate the anniversary and exchanged views with members of the Egyptian media and tourism sector officials.

The conference focused on enhancing cooperation and fostering bilateral relations between the two countries in areas of tourism, education, and trade alongside sharing experiences on counter-terrorism; theoretical and practical assistance in terms of combating terrorist activities.

During this conference, the Ambassador of Belarus to Cairo Terentiev highlighted his country’s intense and constructive bilateral relations with Egypt, referring to the positive roles played by President El Sisi and Egyptian officials in the Middle East as having been instrumental in the steady improvements of political, economic, and social standards in the country.

“We also appreciated his role in the establishment of regional cooperation frameworks such as his latest initiatives and proactive stances in promoting an inclusive dialogue with a view to reconciling perse viewpoints and taking further concrete action to strengthen those alliances,” Terentiev pointed out.

The ambassador also said: "Egypt's development approach sets a model for other countries."

On the other hand, Hany Said, an Egyptian official, revealed that Belarus tourism to Egypt has steadily boomed in recent years, adding that “Egypt has received nearly half a million tourists.”
