Egyptian actress, Arwa Gouda promoted Wednesday mental health awareness with the "Nafsyy" campaign.

Gouda detailed in a video posted on Instagram that mental health is very important, urging fans to seek professional help when feeling mentally exhausted.

"Life is full of challenges and we must learn how to go beyond it and be stronger. I know that it can sometimes be difficult and require a great effort to go beyond and understand it. There is nothing more important than you and your peace of mind. I shared my story with you through the 'Nafsyy' campaign. Share your story and let us encourage each other." Gouda wrote on Instagram.

"Before going to a psychiatrist, one of the things that trouble me was when I went to my friends or family and told them I was tired and need to go to a doctor, they told me that I was fine and let's travel or go to the cinema," she said in the video.

Gouda noted they did not want her to question herself, but on the other hand, she did not know how to help herself.

"They got me out of depression, but it was only for a temporary period and the main problem returned," she added.

Gouda urged fans that if anyone felt exhausted not to be shy to open up about how they feel, noting that they can speak to a doctor or a specialist.

"My life changed 180 degrees after I went to the doctor," she stated.

Gouda continued: "The symptoms that were evident on me were sadness, waking up crying, loud voices made me, and when someone touched me I wanted to push them away. Nothing made me happy,".
