Arab Parliament speaker Adel bin Abdul Rahman al-Assoumi expressed his complete rejection of the Ethiopian intransigence in Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) talks.

In press statements, he expressed his full support for Egypt and Sudan in achieving their interests.

Moreover, Arab Parliament Speaker confirmed his confidence in President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, stressing that he is able to achieve the interests of the two downstream countries.

In addition, al-Asoumi called on Ethiopia to listen to the voice of reason and deal wisely in a way that achieves African interests.

On Tuesday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the latest round of African Union (AU) sponsored trilateral talks between Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia that were held in the Democratic Republic of Congo in an attempt to re-launch deadlocked negotiations over the disputed Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) failed to reach an agreement.
