The Egyptian archaeologists managed to unearth a statue for one of the goddess Hathor priests, during the rescue excavations began late July, inside a plot of land owned by a citizen, about 2 kilometers southeast of Mit Rahinah area.

Dr. Mustafa Waziri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, stated that the rescue excavation mission discovered this statue, which is made of a single block of black granite with hieroglyphic writings engraved on the back.

Moreover, Waziri pointed out that the statue is about 95 cm high and 45 cm wide, adding that digging is continuing to uncover the remaining archaeological pieces and monuments.

It is worth mentioning that, a few days ago the supreme council of Antiquities announced the discovery of a number of stone blocks with inscriptions and ancient statues dated back to Ramses II.
