Dr. Wael El Gafir, Professor of General Surgery and treating doctor of Egyptian superstar Angham, shared Thursday an update about her current health condition.
In a phone-in with "DMC" TV Channel, El Shobashi stated that the acclaimed singer was suffering from heavy bleeding, which forced the gynecologists to undergo urgent surgery.
"This was a week ago and she remained in the hospital for 3 days before returning to her home, but after two days, she began experiencing severe stomach pains and to unable to eat or drink," he stated.
El Gafir noted: "She underwent an x-ray examination which showed that she had bowel adhesions from the first operation, which led to an intestinal blockage and we began to treat it,".
"She is not in a dangerous state and there is a noticeable improvement in her condition. She is currently under strict medical care, and every day undergoes tests and x-rays to know the extent of the improvement," he added.
El Gafir noted that the singer's condition is closely monitored daily.
"We continue as we are as long as there is an improvement in her condition,” he added.
The surgeon noted that there are cases that have no improvement and that require surgical intervention to remove the adhesions.
El Gafir noted that Angham had experienced a noticeable development in the past 24 hours.
"She will be able to return to her home within two or three days if her condition continues to improve.”
