Minister of Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani inspected a new archaeological discovery, that will be announced within two weeks and the final stages of the restoration project of the pyramid of Djoser "step pyramid" in preparation for its anticipated opening.

Al-Anani's visit began with an inspection of the excavations of the Egyptian archaeological mission working in the area, which found a large variety of archaeological findings, including several mummified kittens, and others with a larger size.

Anani also inspected the latest developments of the Djoser pyramid restoration project, which began in 2006 and will be inaugurated in the next few weeks.

More details on the new archaeological discovery will be unveiled at a press conference in the Saqqara area on November 23.
