Amna Nassir, Prof of Philosophy and Islamic Doctrine, said that she is very happy hearing that people are responding to the brotherhood concept globally. The world had forgotten the bond that ties human beings together.

Nassir added that, during "Nur Al-Nabi" program presented by Hamdi Rizq on "Sadaa El Balad" Channel, that man became despotic because of the properties he owns and failed to take into account the rights of his fellow beings. As a result, different nations have got disunited.

The professor affirmed that the verses of the Holy Quran have always been addressing humanity as a whole not only Muslims, adding that the righteous person can not do injustice to others.

Meanwhile, the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity (HCHF) said #prayforhumanity hashtag topped Twitter trends on Saturday after its call for global prayer on Thursday.

Prominent figures like scholars, media men, politicians, and public figures partook in the hashtag, expressing their admiration with the initiative launched by HCHF.

On Friday, the committee called on religious leaders and faithful around the world to a day of fasting, prayers, and supplications for the good of all humanity on Thursday for an end to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb and Pope Francis supported the initiative as well as many Arab leaders and the UN secretary-general.
