On Sunday , Alexandria's Port authority closed the straits of Boughazi Alexandria and Dekheila for a second consecutive day due to the bad weather conditions and high waves.
Alexandria is witnessing a week of bad weather with gale force winds, which is expected to come to an end on Monday.
The decision was taken to guarantee the safety of passing ships, said Ahmed Berekaa, Spokesperson of Alexandria port. He noted that the port's operation center and crisis management is ready to receive any reports or mayday calls.
The meteorologists forecast a wave of unstable weather in the governorate, with light to moderate rainfall expected.
The governorate has urged caution to avoid the consequences of the foreseeable weather conditions.
