Body of leader of the Sudanese National Umma Party Sadiq al-Mahdi arrived at Khartoum airport, on Friday, where he was received by a number of senior officials in the country.
The burial is set to take place in the dome of Imam Al Mahdi in Omdurman, amid an official and popular funeral.
Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, has directed to hold an official funeral for Al-Mahdi, who died on Thursday at dawn, at the age of 85, due to COVID-19 complications.
The transitional government in Sudan declared, on Thursday, 26 November, 3-day mourning over the death of the Sudanese leader.
