On Friday, Head of the Iraqi Sunni Endowment Bureau Saad Kampash announced that the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi and the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohamed al-Halbousi have invited Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb to visit Iraq.
In a statement, the Sunni Endowment Bureau stated that it conveyed the greetings and wishes Al-Kadhimi and Al-Halbousi to Al-Tayyeb.
According to the statement, Kampash handed Al-Tayyeb two written letters from Al-Kadhimi and Al-Halbousi renewing the invitation to him to visit Iraq.
The statement added: "Al-Tayyib expressed his overwhelming happiness when these two messages contained profound meanings and the sincerity of the noble feelings towards the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. He welcomed the invitation."
