The actor addressed the footage through his Facebook account, confirming that he paid for the produced.

“There is a strange video uploaded of me while I was buying a product from one of the gas stations in Cairo, and after I had paid for the product, the footage was spread on the Internet and featured me as if I stole this product,” wrote Malek.

He added that the footage was a shameful attempt to defame him, adding that he has the payment bill, and will respond by law to this strange and shameful behavior.

“I was filmed without my permission and a sound was installed on the video to turn normal satiation into a suspicious act. I am very sad and incognizable, as to why, someone would hurt a person with this strange and cruel act,” Malek stated.

He asked people not to believe everything they show, adding that he will file a defamation report on this strange and offensive site.

Malek noted for any media personals, not to be fooled and become a very easy tool that can be used against others.

“I hope that this false defamation does not change your vision of me. I will continue to give my profession all I have and try not to succumb to an unjust attack. Thank you." He concluded.

Malek was recently seen in the movie, “The Furnace”, which was screened at the Venice and El Gouna Film Festival.
