Manchester City's boss Pep Guardiola said on Friday that striker Sergio Aguero will miss Real Madrid's Champions League (CL) clash on August 7 due to his knee injury.

The Citizens, who lost the Premier League title this season, are set to clash against the Whites in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 as they clinched a 2-1 victory in the away match.

Aguero sustained meniscus damage during last month's 5-0 Premier League win over Burnley and was operated on by Guardiola's preferred surgeon, Dr Ramon Cugat.

"I told you many times no. No," Guardiola told a news conference when asked about Aguero's prospects.

It is worth mentioning that the Uefa announced that draw for the Champions League quarter-finals and semi-finals, which was held at Uefa’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland

Four quarter-finalists were confirmed before the COVID-19 pandemic suspended the season, while the remaining four last-16 second legs will be played at the respective clubs’ home stadiums.

The remaining matches of the tournament are set to be held  on August 12-15 in Lisbon.

Quarter-Final draw is as follows:

QF 1: Real Madrid or Manchester City v Olympique Lyonnais or Juventus

– QF 2: RB Leipzig v Atletico Madrid

– QF 3: Napoli or Barcelona v Chelsea or Bayern Munich

– QF 4: Atalanta v Paris St Germain

Semi-Final draw (Matches on Aug. 18-19)

– SF 1: Winner of QF 1 v Winner of QF 3

– SF 2: Winner of QF 2 v Winner of QF 4
