U.S. actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot the director of photography and injured the film's director while using a prop firearm on the filming set of a Western movie in New Mexico on Thursday.
Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed, and director Joel Souza was wounded at around noon, Juan Rios, spokesman for the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office said.
The incident occurred while the Hollywood actor was shooting the movie "Rust" in Santa Fe County. The circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation.
Rios said the shooting happened during a rehearsal of one of the movie scenes, adding that police was questioning witnesses to determine how the two were shot.
