Abou El-Enein: Parl't Plays Major Role in Issuing Many Environmnetal Laws

Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Parliament Deputy Speaker referred to the new visions, studies, reports and binding international agreements on climate change crisis.

In his word before the 3rd scientific conference for environment and sustainable development, Abou El-Enein said that the Egyptian Parliament plays a major role in issuing many environmental laws, to achieve integration and reach recommendations that will help reducing environmental emissions risks and preserve the environment.

 

The lawmaker also added that this conference is significant, as it lays out solutions for the problem represented in the danger of climate change and emissions.

Moreover, Abou El-Enein pointed out that this conference sheds light on the danger of environmental conditions, in order to obtain our environmental rights.

On his part, prominent Egyptian scientist Farouk El-Baz, Research Professor and Director of the Center for Remote Sensing at Boston University, expressed confidence in the ability of Al-Azhar scholars, and students to help solve climate change crisis, via their valuable scientific researches.

 

In his recorded word, he stressed that Al-Azhar University occupies a significant international position, adding that he will visit this historic university to meet with students, scholars and researchers.

Moreover, el-Baz hailed the oraganization of the conference, wishing further development and prosperity for Egypt.

On his part, US ambassador to Egypt Jonathan Cohen expressed the US’s aspiration to partner with Egypt in various fields.

In a recorded message, the US diplomat congratulated Egypt for being the host of the upcoming COP27 climate summit.

Dr. Bakri Saeed Osman, President of the Association of African Universities (AAU) expressed his great happiness with the speech delivered by the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, before the conference.

In addition, he stressed that this speech is a document that must be taken into consideration by the organizers of the the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 27), set to be hosted in Egypt in November 2022.

"Through this conference, Al-Azhar plays its role in the development of the Egyptian, African and international community," Osman added.

Moreover, he underlined the importance of using clean energy as an alternative to fossil fuels.

AAU Presdeint also called on rich countries to help the developing ones in reducing the risks of climate change crisis, stressing that this issue concerns everyone.
