Abou El-Enein Calls for Reforming Work System in Egypt

Parliament deputy speaker Mohamed Abou El-Enein called on Monday for a comprehensive reform in the work system of Egypt, stressing the necessity of creativity and boosting productivity.

During the parliament’s plenary session on a draft law submitted by the government to amend some provisions of the law on the regulation of Establishment of the Central Agency for Organization and Administration Law no. 118 for 1964, Abou El-Enein pointed out that this law is one of the most important legislation affecting productivity in Egypt, saying, "It lets us know the problem and ways to solve it."

He revealed that Egypt has 2,443 entities ruled by 6.4 million people, indicating that every 15 people have a government employee, and this rate is very high compared to the other countries, citing Morocco, where every 88 citizens have an employee.

The Parliament deputy speaker added that the increase in the number of employees paves the way to an arsenal of Republican laws and decisions, noting that amending this law represents the beginning.

He also pointed out to the importance of retraining and rehabilitation of workers in a manner that keeps pace with the technological development, stressing the importance of having a new system of competence for workers.
