Abdel Dayem Heads 64th Meeting of Supreme Council of Culture

Out of the state concern of the arts and of enriching thought and awareness especially in the crisis of Corona virus, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, agreed that the Supreme Council of Culture organizes its 64 meeting to vote on the State Awards for the current year 2020.

The meeting will be headed by Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of culture, in collaboration with Dr. Hisham Azmi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council, on Saturday, 20 June at 12 pm in the Grand theater in the Egyptian Opera House.

The meeting comes within the framework of a set of precautionary measures taken by the Ministry of Culture, represented by the Supreme Council in coordination with the Opera House in order to achieve the maximum prevention for the members of the Council in the circumstances of Corona virus.

It is worthy of note that this meeting will be attended only by the 36 members of the Council who have the right to vote to choose the winners.

The Ministry of Culture has taken all the necessary precautionary measures of sterilization, preventive measures and social distancing.

The meeting will oversee the voting on the state awards of The Nile Award, Appreciation Award, Excellence Award in the three main fields of: arts, literature and social sciences.

The nominated names were checked by the committees that worked over the past months.

The meeting will be preceded by a speech delivered by the Minister of Culture to announce the winners of the state awards.

It will be broadcast live on the Channel of the Ministry of Culture on YouTube and will be distributed on the various media channels.
