Abbas Hails Egypt's Supportive Stances

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received on Sunday Egypt's Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel and his accompanying delegation, at the Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah

 

During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments regarding the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza, in addition to a number of key issues, foremost of which, the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, the intra-Palestinian reconciliation file, and the political process which is the key to stability and peace in the region.

 

On his part, Abbas hailed Egypt's key role and efforts, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, to support the Palestinian people and their just cause.

 

The meeting was attended by Minister Hussein Al-Sheikh, the chairman of the General Authority for Civil Affairs, and the head of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Majed Faraj.

 

Earlier Sunday, Kamel, leading an Egyptian security delegation, left Cairo for Israel and the Palestinian territories where he will discuss ways to firm up a ceasefire with Palestinian factions.
