Tunisian reports revealed that authorities would deploy a large-scale security operation involving about 8,000 personnel to secure the CAF Champions League encounter between Zamalek and ES Tunis.

The CAF Champions League holders are set to host the White Knights in the second leg of the quarter-final on Friday, March 6.

"Nessma Sport" website reported that security authorities agreed with the organizing committee of the game to deploy 8,000 security personnel to secure the match.

Ministry of Youth and Sports in Tunisia pledged on Monday to secure the CAF Champions League encounter between Egypt’s Zamalek and Espérance Sportive de Tunis.

In a statement, the Tunisian ministry affirmed that Tunisia can secure the encounter in the best way ever as it aims at securing the fans and the visitors’ mission.

The Whites managed to secure a 3-1 victory in the first leg at Cairo Stadium in the presence of 30,000 fans.

On February 14, the White Knights thrashed the Tunisian side 3-1 to lift their fourth CAF Super Cup title.

Zamalek's left-back Abdallah Gomaa has been excluded from the White Knights' squad for the encounter as head coach Patrice Carteron named a 23-man squad for Rades' clash.

Carteron decided to exclude Abdallah Gomaa and defender Mohamed Abdel Ghani due to injuries, while Karim Bambo and Omar El Said were ruled out due to technical issues.
