The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention announced on Saturday that about 75 % of the Emirati population has received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
In a statement, the ministry added that 64 % of the UAE population is fully vaccinated.
Last week, the UAE Ministry of Health announced the emergency registration of its fifth COVID-19 vaccine “Moderna”.
“This decision was made based on the results of clinical trials, a strict assessment conducted to approve the local emergency use of the vaccine, as well as the approval of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA),” the ministry added.
“The approval of the emergency registration of Moderna‘s COVID-19 vaccine came within the framework of the UAE’s efforts to combat Coronavirus,” it stressed.
