Siemens has signed an agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company to supply the country’s first digital power transformer, Sensformer.
The transformer is expected to increase energy reliability and efficiency for the Kafr El-Sheikh and New Zagazig 500/220kV substations for the Delta area highly in need of a large volume of power in Egypt.
Siemens will supply 14 Electrical transformer “Sensformers” including engineering, designing, structuring and supervising the project. The project is expected to be completed by May 2020.
Engineer and Chairperson of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company Sabah Meslhy stated that Egypt is going through an unprecedented transformation in energy sector.
She added that the new electric transformer is expected to improve energy distribution.
