On Tuesday, a cargo plane with five crew members on board crashed after taking off from Juba International Airport in South Sudan, according to official statements.

Juba International Airport Director General Kur Kuol confirmed that a cargo plane Antonov 26 that was taking goods to Maban County of Upper Nile State crashed at the eastern side of the River Nile with five people on board.

“I think there will be no survivors,” Kuol told Anadolu Agency by phone in the capital Juba without giving further details.

An eyewitness told Anadolu Agency he saw the plane burning with nobody coming out of the wreckage.

He said the crashing plane also killed some livestock on the ground, adding: “I have seen about four goats on the ground dead.”
